Montagu Panto Rehearsals for Beaulieu’s Victorian Christmas December 22nd – January 6th

Montagu family pantomime rehearsals will be part of Beaulieu’s Victorian Christmas celebrations bringing the ancestral home of Palace House to life for the festive season from December 22nd – January 6th.

Daytime visitors to Beaulieu can join the Montagu family, played by costumed actors, as they rehearse Aladdin and prepare for Christmas and New Year festivities in 1889.

Feel the warm glow of carols and punch by a roaring log fire, see traditional decorations and towering Christmas trees in every room of Palace house. You won’t be able to miss the 22ft tree standing at the foot of the main staircase.

Youngsters can also join in with craft activities to make Christmas cards or sparkling tree decorations, then dress up in period-perfect accessories for a selfie opportunity.

Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a special feast, so head to the Victorian Kitchen to talk to Lord Montagu’s cook and her kitchen maid as they prepare for Christmas Day lunch.

Get inspired by the selection of Christmas gifts in the Kitchen Shop at Palace House, with presents ranging from tasty preserves to silverware. The Visitor Reception Gift Shop is the place to find motoring memorabilia and children’s toys. A limited edition Palace House bauble tree decoration is available this year, priced at £9.99 and a Beaulieu calendar, featuring seasonal images, is also on sale.

Beaulieu is open every day except Christmas day. All Christmas activities are included in the general admission entrance ticket, which includes entry to the National Motor Museum, World of Top Gear, On Screen Cars, Palace House, Beaulieu Abbey and the grounds and gardens. Tickets can be bought in advance online. For tickets or more information see www.beaulieu.co.uk or call 01590 612345.

Or why not upgrade to a combined ticket to include this year’s first magical Christmas at Beaulieu illuminated trail, which will run on selected evenings between November 23rd – December 30th. The one-mile after-dark trail will feature a scented fire garden in the Abbey Cloister, tunnel of light and Christmas wishing tree in the formal gardens, light show to music on the front of Palace House, path of giant icicle light shards and a singing tree finale. Traditional fairground rides and dining in the Abbey Domus are also available. For tickets and information see www.beaulieu.co.uk/Christmas.
